Yuta Takanashi

Yuta Takanashi is Director for International Digital Strategy at the Financial Services Agency (FSA) of Japan. He leads supervisory and policy work on crypto‑assets and stablecoins and contributes to the FSA’s engagement in the G20’s cross‑border payments initiatives.
From 2021 to December 2025, he served in the Secretariat of the Financial Stability Board (FSB), where he led international work on financial innovation, including crypto‑assets, artificial intelligence, tokenization, and quantum computing. During his tenure, he also supported the FSB Chair and Secretary‑General in coordinating the FSB’s participation in the G20 and G7.
He holds an M.B.A. from Stanford University and a Bachelor of Science from the Institute of Science Tokyo (formerly Tokyo Institute of Technology).
