Born in Tokyo, Osamu Toda is a Noh performer of the and a Holder of Important Intangible Cultural Property (General Designation), officially recognized by the Government of Japan for mastery in traditional performing arts.
He trained under the second and third generations of Manzaburō Umewaka and has performed major classical works including Midare and Dōjōji.
As founder of the Shūyōkai, he is dedicated to the transmission and international dissemination of Noh chant and dance traditions.
