尺八作曲家、講師、演奏家。 1960年、カリフォルニア州サンタモニカ生まれ。カリフォルニア州立大学ノースリッジ校でフルートとサクソフォーンの学位を取得し、カリフォルニア大学サンタバーバラ校でアジア研究の修士号を取得。東京芸術大学で伝統音楽を学び、首席で卒業。これまでに8枚のアルバムをリリースし、オリジナル作品「Amadokawa」がニューヨークのメトロポリタン美術館で展覧会に出品される。伝統的および現代的な音楽ジャンルのさまざまなアーティストやグループと共演しています。神奈川県横浜在住。国内外で演奏・指導を行う。

Shakuhachi composer, instructor, and performer. Born in Santa Monica, California, in 1960. Earned a degree in flute and saxophone from California State University, Northridge, and a master’s degree in Asian Studies at the University of California, Santa Barbara. Studied traditional music at Tokyo University of the Arts, graduating at the top of his class. Has released eight albums to date and had his original piece “Amadogawa” (Amado River) featured at an exhibition at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City. Has performed with various artists and groups from traditional and contemporary musical genres. Lives in Yokohama, Kanagawa Prefecture. Performs and teaches in Japan and abroad.
