Paul Twarog

Paul Twarog joined Block in 2024 and currently leads the international legal team supporting Square, Afterpay and Clearpay in global markets, including Japan, Australia, Ireland, the UK, France, Spain and Canada. Prior to Block, he was the global payments legal lead for Google LLC for twelve years, supporting Google’s payments platform for Google Play and YouTube transactions, as well as mobile wallet, peer to peer transactions, and open and closed loop stored value. Paul’s other experience includes senior legal and compliance roles at Esurance (acquired by Allstate), Washington Mutual Bank (acquired by JP Morgan Chase), the New York City Transit Authority, and American Express. He currently lives and works in San Francisco.
