Executive Director - Regulatory Genome Project, Cambridge Judge Business School
Dr. Bandi is the Executive Director of the Regulatory Genome Project at Cambridge Judge Business School, University of Cambridge. He is an expert in capital markets policies, digital finance regulations and technology-based compliance solutions. In his current role, he is involved in numerous projects to introduce AI processes, machine-readable regulations and RegTech applications to the global Regulators community. Dr Bandi is a member of the Bank of England/FCA Industry Data Standards Committee and ESMA’s DSC Disclosure Working Group. He also provides advice to corporates and regulators, including the IMF and the World Bank.
Before joining University of Cambridge, Dr. Bandi worked as Director of Supervision at the QFCRA in Qatar and he has been an IOSCO Investment Management Committee member for several years, chairing various key committees on fund leverage and digital assets investments. His regulator experience started at the UK’s FSA where he was a Technical Specialist for the Investment Management Supervision Department. He previously worked in industry and has been the Europe Head of Wealth Management analytics at RiskMetrics, now MSCI. Dr. Bandi also taught economics and finance for almost decade at Northwestern University in its Qatar campus.
Dr. Bandi holds a PhD in Financial Regulation from Durham University, an LL.M in EU Business Law from pan-European universities (PALLAS group) and an MSc/BSc in Finance from Bocconi University
