Taejun is Founder, Chair of the Board, and CEO of Gojo & Company, a pioneering microfinance startup operating across Asia and Africa. Under his leadership, Gojo has become the fastest-growing microfinance group in history, aspiring to be the private sector World Bank. Previously, Taejun worked at Morgan Stanley and Unison Capital, contributing to notable private equity investments. He founded NGO Living in Peace in 2007, launching Japan’s first microfinance investment fund and advocating for children in alternative care. Taejun also co-founded J-Oschis, an institution dedicated to enhancing local governments’ child support. Born stateless, he still carries a refugee travel document, an experience that shaped his entrepreneurial journey. Taejun has authored nine books on finance and child welfare, finished a 1,648 km ultra-marathon, and holds a karate black belt and 6-Dan rank in Go. Named a World Economic Forum Young Global Leader in 2018, he serves on its Advisory Board.
