Roundtable : Regulation in the age of AI - Global priorities and approaches

GFIN AI Compass was launched in August 2025 to understand how jurisdictions are approaching AI in financial services and to create a trusted forum for sharing oversight insights, challenges, and innovation approaches. The initiative is currently in Phase 1 (Mapping & Landscape review) with 18 participating GFIN members, having hosted workshops that mapped organisational structures, capabilities, and priorities, and identified potential focus areas for Phases 2 and 3 (which would involve thematic deep dives and cross-border testing initiatives). The purpose of this roundtable is to validate, challenge, and refine the Phase 1 findings on how financial regulators are approaching AI—both structurally and in terms of priority focus areas—with input from industry and with the support of GFTN. It will provide a valuable opportunity for industry participants to engage directly with regulators and hear how 18 jurisdictions are approaching AI in financial services, as well as discuss next steps.
