About this session
Tokenisation will only fulfil its promise when it operates as invisible infrastructure across institutional markets and everyday financial life. This dialogue explores how tokenised deposits, stablecoins, and tokenised securities can be woven into wallets, merchant ecosystems, and capital markets without undermining customer trust or regulatory safeguards. The discussion will focus on practical pathways to move from isolated pilots to population‑scale usage, including user experience design, interoperability with core banking and payment systems, and the impact of emerging policy clarity in jurisdictions such as Japan. It will also consider how governance, risk management, and operational readiness need to evolve as tokenised instruments become part of mainstream financial services.

Global Layer One (GL1) addresses how these critical workstreams can develop cohesively through shared standards. This roundtable discusses how common technical, operational, and policy frameworks can deliver interoperability across different market infrastructures, integrate compliance directly into system architecture, and enable secure, scalable adoption of digital assets in global finance.

As regional markets digitize, new mechanisms are emerging to enhance the speed, transparency, and efficiency of cross-border value transfer. This dialogue explores how advancements in digital payment networks, financial infrastructure, and capital market innovation are enabling a more agile flow of funds across Asia and Japan. For founders, this session reveals how to position your company to attract institutional capital and leverage regional liquidity. For investors, it provides a roadmap for deploying capital more seamlessly across borders. The discussion examines the convergence of policy frameworks, liquidity management tools, and regional partnerships that make large-scale capital deployment more strategically aligned with sustainable growth and founder success.
