Bridging DeFi and Regulation - Pathways for Japan in a Global Market (Co-hosted by Japan Cryptoasset Business Association JCBA) [in Japanese] | DeFiと規制の架橋──グローバル市場での日本の進むべき道（一般社団法人日本暗号資産ビジネス協会［JCBA］共催、日本語セッション）

About this session

While Japan has pioneered regulatory clarity for digital assets, the decentralized nature of DeFi creates new friction points with established financial frameworks. This session explores the legal hurdles of applying domestic regulations to global protocols and the practical challenges faced by startups operating at this intersection. By bridging the gap between formal legal interpretation and the operational realities of the digital asset industry, the roundtable examines how Japan can navigate questions of risk and governance. The discussion aims to identify where current laws must adapt to support a competitive, compliant ecosystem within the global market.
