About this session
Witness a landmark discussion on the "Great Alignment" of digital asset oversight. As Japan transitions its crypto regulatory framework to the Financial Instruments and Exchange Act (FIEA) in 2026, it moves into closer orbit with the U.S. SEC's classification of digital assets as investment contracts. This session focuses on how this shift facilitates institutional participation by providing a familiar "securities-grade" environment for disclosures, insider-trading rules, and investor protection. For founders building in the digital asset space, this conversation provides critical clarity on compliance requirements. For investors, it signals a maturing regulatory environment that enables larger capital deployment. The discussion centers on collaborative efforts between the FSA and SEC to combat cross-border fraud and establish common standards for stablecoins and tokenized real-world assets (RWA). It is an essential briefing for global firms navigating the increasingly unified rules of the road for the world's two most influential capital markets.
